PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a device and to prevent flow of large rush current by starting charging through an impedance element, then short-circuiting the impedance element and continuing current supply in charging of a main capacitor. CONSTITUTION:A signal CHG 1 for control rises to an H level first and a signal of the H level is inputted from a control circuit 100 to a switching element 72 of a switch circuit 7 to conduct the element 72. The current is thereby passed through the impedance element 71 to a power transformer 3 and the charging of the main capacitor 5 is started. A signal CHG 2 for control, then, rises to the H level with a time tau lag and the signal of the H level is inputted from a control circuit 200 to a switch circuit 8. A switching element 81 is thereby conducted and the current is supplied to the transformer 3 while the circuit 7 is held short-circuited so that the charging of the capacitor 5 is continued. The elements 71, 81 are shut off and the charging of the capacitor 5 is stopped when the charge voltage of the capacitor 5 attains a set value. Then, a flash lamp 1 emits internal light and the fixing of the toner is executed. |
