PURPOSE:To efficiently control a communication processing between plural host computers by a couple of MODEMs by providing a connection means connecting plural host computers and a means discriminating the connection destination to switch the connection destination into the MODEM. CONSTITUTION:A means controlling the communication between host computers connected to the same MODEMs 20, 30 and controlling the changeover of the host computers automatically is provided to the MODEMs 20, 30 connecting the plural host computers while the number of host computers connectable to the MODEMs 20, 30 is selected as one set or above. Thus, the communication between the host computers connected to the same MODEMs 20, 30 is attained without awaiting the changeover of the operator and the number of MODEMs 20, 30 installed in centers (a), (b) is reduced remarkably.
