PURPOSE:To improve the operability by displaying a setting value of a picture variable power means on a display section on an operation panel, and keeping the display for a prescribed time even after an original is read. CONSTITUTION:A variable power value is set, displayed on an LCD and the setting value is kept on the LCD for a prescribed time after the communication is finished. Thus, when the communication is desired to be continued with the same setting value (variable power) consecutively, it is not required to apply various settings from the start and the operation is simplified. Further, since the setting value is restored to the initial value, after the operation at a setting value is finished and the other user uses the equipment, the operation to restore the setting values is not required and the start of communication with different setting can be avoided.
