PURPOSE:To provide a heat-resistance improving agent for thermoplastics, composed of particles of a specific polymer containing an inorganic filler and capable of improving heat-resistance of a thermoplastics without deteriorating the moldability of the resin. CONSTITUTION:The objective heat-resistance improving agent is composed of composite polymer particles having a particle diameter of 0.05-50mum and composed of (A) 30-90wt.%, preferably 40-90wt.% polymer of one or more kinds of monomers selected from aromatic vinyl monomers, unsaturated nitrile monomers, (meth)acrylate monomers, dicarboxylic acid imide monomers and dicarboxylic acid anhydride monomers and (B) 70-10wt.%, preferably 60-10wt.% inorganic filler preferably having an average particle diameter of 0.01-40mum and a specific surface area of 5-400m<2>/g, such as silica, calcium silicate or calcium carbonate. The improving agent can be produced preferably by the suspension polymerization or emulsion polymerization of the monomer A in the presence of the component B.
