INTERMEDIATE WORK PIECE SUPPORT IN A TRANSFER PRESS

A large flat workpiece (4) is transferred between two successive pressing operations in a transfer press by a device consisting of a row of parallel supports (6). These supports (6) are so shaped that their longitudinal profile matches the profile of the workpiece (4). The row of supports can be raised or lowered by means of power cylinders (22,23). Adjusting devices enable the height of each support (6) to be adjusted independently of the outer supports (6).
