PURPOSE:To minimize the back reaction of ink and improve the response by trapping a part of ink in an ink trap groove ends, when the ink which has been pulled out of an ink ejection port is pulled back into the ink ejection port with the end of application of a signal. CONSTITUTION:When a signal is applied to an ink electrode 7 and an external electrode, an ink meniscus formed in an ink ejection port 9 is pulled out to an air ejection port direction. Then if application of the signal ends, the pulled out part of the ink is pulled back into the ink ejection port 9 by reaction. At that time, a part of the ink pulled back is trapped by means of an ink trap groove 17, an the back reaction of the ink is minimized by an increase in resistance due to a pressure loss which occurs in the trap groove, thus improving the response. |
