The invention relates to an electrically operated machine for the preparation of hot beverages, such as coffee, tea or the like, in particular to a coffee machine, having a fresh-water container, a heating means downstream of the latter, and a rising pipe for the heated water, whose end region, which is preferably configured as a transverse pipe, has an outlet arranged above a filter. The coffee machine or the like has a housing which consists of two housing parts divided preferably along their longitudinal centre line. The housing parts have bearing locations, integrally moulded on their inner walls, for the fresh-water container and the heating means. During assembly of the coffee machine or the like, firstly the individual parts, such as the fresh-water container and the heating means, are inserted into the bearing locations of the one housing part. Thereafter, the second housing part is connected to the first in the horizontal direction, this taking place with the use of known connections.
