PURPOSE:To reduce the hardware quantity and to improve the data segmentation processing capacity by making use of a DMAC (direct memory access controller) function to the segmentation control. CONSTITUTION:A control part 13 sets previously the number of lines corresponding to each area, the segmenting area designation information and the head address of a transfer area in a memory 12 at a DMAC10 for the image data given from a data source 14. Thus a desired segmenting area of the source 14 is stored in a segmentation data storing area 12S of the memory 12 and other areas are superscribed on a partial writing area 12R where a prescribed writing unit is not needed. Therefore a segmentation-only circuit is omitted to realize the reduction of the hardware quantity, the effective use of the memory capacity and the reduction of the data segmenting time.
