PURPOSE:To obtain the titled novel compound useful as a resin raw material to give a resin having improved hardness, strength, flexibility, water-resistance, etc., by reacting a compound having active hydrogen with a specific oxide having vinyl group and an epoxy compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective polyether compound of formula I [R1 is residue having l active hydrogen groups; n1-nl are 0-100; A is mixture of group of formula II and group of formula III (R2 is residue of a compound having epoxy group)] can be produced by mixing (A) 1mol. of a compound having active hydrogen (e.g. methanol and acetic acid), (B) preferably 2-100mol. of 4-vinylcyclohexene-1-oxide or 4-vinylbicyclo[2,2,1]heptene-1-oxide and (C) preferably 99-1mol.% (based on 1-99mol.% of the component B) of a compound having epoxy group and reacting the components e.g. at -20-+200 deg.C.
