Shut-off valve as a component of sanitary fittings

A shut-off valve has a valve housing which is provided on the inside with an inlet connection bearing a valve seat and with an outlet connection which extends out sideways near to the valve seat. Provided coaxially with the inlet connection, diametrically opposite the valve seat, is a receiving connection for a valve top part, the valve spindle of which is provided with an outer polygonal end for rotary actuation. The receiving connection forms a well-like tubular stub which overlaps the polygonal end axially and is provided with an external thread, its free end being provided with a bearing flange for the outer wall surface and its inner end being provided with a lower screwed flange for the inner or lower wall surface of a sanitary component. In this arrangement, the circular-cylindrical inner circumferential surface of the well-like tubular stub forms a rotary bearing bush for a stub shaft which is approximately flush with the bearing flange and the inner end of which is coupled for rotation with the polygonal end, while its outer end has a connection secure against relative rotation for an actuating handle.
