What is indicated is a process for the continuous collection and packaging of flat-bag packs which are stacked in succession, lying flat, into compartments of an endlessly rotating conveyor device via a feed device and which are pushed out of these compartments simultaneously in groups into a collecting container by means of a slide, the compartments filled with packs not moving any further in the region of this slide during the movement of the latter. This process is characterised in that the distance along the conveyor device between the feed device and the slide is varied, so that, even during the movement of the slide, flat-bag packs can be stacked in succession via the feed device into a plurality of respective empty compartments standing ready, without the stacking operation being interrupted.
