PURPOSE:To achieve most suited discrimination to the distortion state of line at all times, by preparing for the most suited discrimination plane and a normal discrimination plane to a phase jitter. CONSTITUTION:If white noise is dominant on a line, discrimination is made by using the discrimination plane. If phase jitter is much, a discrimination plane which is sectioned into a sectorial form by taking an eye reference point as a center mainly is prepared, the two discrimination planes are suitably selected according to the state of line. Further, the discrimination if white noise is generated or phase jitter takes place on the line is performed as follows: A difference between the real part R and the imaginary partIm coming from the eye reference point E and the reception signal point is obtained, the difference is squared and integration is made by noticing the magnitude. In case of the line having much white noise, the integration value is zero, because no directionality is given to the error signal. In case of the line having much phase jittr, the imaginary parts are integrated for output. |
