A panel is a moulded reinforced hard plastic panel base (12) to fit into a tank opening (30) with an outward face (98) of lightweight electrically conductive material and a peripheral hard plastic part (20) around the second face (24) and extending into the tank to overlap the wall around the opening. A high strength-to-wt. core (96) is in the base inwardly of the peripheral part. The peripheral part has a continuous groove (42) to hold a seal (44) lying against the tank wall, and spaced inserts (66) in which fastener nuts are held against rotation to receive threaded fasteners. The hard plastics is pref. fibreglass-reinforced nylon, the outer face is a thin aluminium sheet and the core is aluminium honeycomb, or is of hard plastic struts with the spaces filled with rigid plastics foam. |
