Sealing device for components rotating in rolling-contact bearings

For sealing shafts running in rolling-contact bearings, ferrofluid seals are used. For securing the bearing inner race against axial displacement on the shaft, it has been the practice to fasten, for example, a securing ring outside the ferrofluid seal, with the effect of increasing the overal axial height. According to the invention it is proposed to make the diameters of the two sealing gaps (43, 48) of the pole plates (32, 33) different and to arrange for there to protrude into the one gap (48) a supporting bush (38) which is fastened on the shaft (3) and bears against the inner race (7) of the rolling-contact bearing (5).
