PURPOSE:To form a high contrast negative image having high sensitivity by incorporating a specified nucleus forming agent. CONSTITUTION:Acylhydrazines represented by formula I as a nucleus forming agent are incorporated into the photographic emulsion layer or other hydrophilic colloidal layer of the titled sensitive material. In the formula, each of A1 and A2 is H, one of A1 and A2 may be a sulfinic acid residue or the like, R1 is H, alkyl, aryl or the like, G is carbonyl, sulfonyl, phosphoryl or the like, L1 is arylene, L2 is a bivalent combining group, X1 is a group accelerating adsorption on silver halide and m=0 or 1. The compds. represented by the formula I include a compd. represented by formula II. When the compds. are combined with a negative type emulsion, a high contrast sensitive material is obtd. When the compds. are combined with an internal latent image type emulsion, a sensitive material ensuring superior reversal characteristics even in case where a developing soln. of a low pH is used, is obtd. |
