The invention relates to an interface in the transmission between the sound receiving and reproducing sides in an electroacoustic transmission system, based on the theoretical operating system of the outer ear taking into account the physical principles of the transmission operation of the outer ear, whereby the spectral variations due to the direction-independent components on the sound receiving side and due to the direction-dependent components on the sound reproducing side are corrected, so that the sound receiving side has no effect on the direction-dependent parameters of the outer ear [the directionally neutral interface which is therefore independent of the sound field (free field to diffuse sound field)] and the sound reproducing side has no effect on the direction-dependent parameters of the outer ear. The invention thereby offers a technically feasible option for individual adaption of head-phone transmission properties.
