A hydraulic coupling, especially for automatic transmissions of motor vehicles, is to be designed in such a way that, on the one hand, it is subject to little wear and, on the other hand, provides a slip-free connection between the input and the output member. For this purpose, the invention provides that equally spaced radial slots distributed over the circumference be arranged in a cylindrical coupling body, guided in which slots are axially displaceable slides, forming a seal, which can be subjected from one end of the coupling body to a hydraulic medium and protrude partially from the slots at the other end of the coupling body and can enter axial recesses, of which there are half as many, distributed uniformly over the circumference and filled with the hydraulic medium in the facing end of a housing, the recesses having walls with a relatively shallow slope and the end edges facing them of the slides resting in a sealing manner on the walls of the recesses.
