1. Driving drum for a tarpaulin of the type used to cover a pool filled with liquid, made up of a cylinder (1) which turns between the lateral walls of the pool, with a hydraulic rotation drive system inside it which includes a sealed housing (2) conveyor, fitted with a piston (4) determining two chambers (8, 9) and the means to supply or drain the fluid from each of these chambers alternately, the drum having the characteristic of the housing (2) being fitted so as to slide without turning, parallel with the cylinder wall (1) and it has helical ribbing (21) at the exterior, operating with at least one roller (6) on the interior of the cylinder wall (1) so that the sliding of the housing (2) rotates the cylinder (1) and thus rolls or unrolls the pool cover or other form of tarpaulin.
