PURPOSE:To prepare a superconductive ceramic easily and inexpensively by prepg. an integrated body comprising an element of the IIIa group and IIa group, and metallic Cu, oxide or carbonate of Cu by mixing the above described components, and calcining and sintering under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:An integrated body is prepd. by mixing each at least one kind of elements of the group IIIa and IIa of the periodic table with metal, oxide or carbonate of Cu and compressing the mixture. The integrated body is calcined at 500-1,200 deg.C in oxidizing atmosphere. The calcined body is pulverized and mixed again to prepare an integrated body. A superconductive ceramic is prepd. by sintering the calcined material in an atmosphere at 500-1,200 deg.C. The above described ceramic has a constitution expressed by (A1-xBx)yCuOz [wherein (x) is 0.01-0.3; (y) is 1.0-2.2; (z) is 2.0-4.5]. It is preferred that A is at least one among Y, Gd, Yb, Eu, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Lu, Sc, and other lanthanoids, and B is at least one among Ra, Ba, Sr, Ca, Mg, Be. |
