PURPOSE:To enable a seal part to be arranged in a tilt condition, by forming a flexible connection part in the vicinity of a connection part between a mounting root part and the seal part, in the case of a sealing member which is mounted to the peripheral edge part of an opening and closing member of a vehicle coming into contact with the opening edge of a car body to seal it. CONSTITUTION:An engine hood 17 provides a seal member 11 to be arranged, and the seal member 11, which is formed by a cylindrical mounting root part 12 consisting of relatively hard solid rubber or the like and an internally hollowed seal 13 consisting of sponge rubber or the like integrally connected to a point end part 14 of this mounting root part 12, fixes it to an internal plate 18 of the engine hood 17 by a rivet 19. Here in the vicinity of a connection part between the mounting root part 12 of the seal member 11 and its seal part 13, that is, the point end part 14 of the mounting root part 12, a thin thickness connection part 16, having in its bottom surface a grooved streak 15 with an almost radial shaped section, is formed along the lengthwise direction of the mounting root part 12. In this way, the seal part 13 is able to elastically fold corresponding to the tilt angle of a point end folding part 18a. |
