PURPOSE:To improve the flow rate characteristic of the air conditioner and to reduce the noise thereof by providing, on the upstream side of a cross flow fan, a heat exchanger comprising a plurality of fin groups and a plurality of rows of heat transfer tube groups in which the diameter of each heat transfer tube on the downstream side is made smaller than the diameter of each heat transfer tube on the upstream side. CONSTITUTION:A heat exchanger comprising, on the upstream side of a cross flow fan 5, fin groups 8 and a plurality of rows of heat transfer tube groups 10 and 11 inserted rectangularly into said fin groups 8, is provided on the upstream side of the cross fan 5. A vortex which is a circulating flow is produced at the part of a stabilizer 7. Since main stream flows so that it is sucked into the vortex circulating flow, air flows toward the heat transfer tube on the downstream below half pitch from the upstream side heat transfer tube 10. Since the diameter of heat transfer tube 11 is smaller than that of the heat transfer tube 10, the air flow becomes a flow flowing along a wing shape. Accordingly, the turbulence of air flowing into the cross flow fan 5 becomes small and noise is eliminated. |
