ABSORBENT FOR HARMFUL GAS

PURPOSE:To improve absorptivity for SiF4 and BCl3 contained in gas and to make gas harmless by absorbing or mixing the aq. soln. or suspension of an alkali agent to/with high-water absorbent resin and thereafter molding an absorbent of a granular shape or the like. CONSTITUTION:An absorbent of SiF4 and BCl3 is prepared by absorbing or mixing the aq. soln. or suspension of an alkali agent to/with high-water absorbent resin and thereafter molding it to a granular shape or the like. Further the granular alkali agent is mixed with granular high-water absorbent resin absorbed with water or with granulated material of powdery high-water absorbent resin absorbed with water and the mixture is packed in an absorber and used as the absorbent. As the alkali agent, hydroxide or the like of alkali metal or alkaline earth metal can be used. Further as the high-water absorbent resin, e.g. it can be selected from among cellulose-base hydrophilic acryl-base and vinyl alcohol-base high molecular compds.
