PURPOSE:To perform polishing for good surface accuracy of finishing without entailing any surface defect such as flaws, etc., by giving external force to abrasive grams with magnetism as attracting them onto a tool reference plane, uniformizing their distribution, and transferring these abrasive grains on the reference plane to a holding body. CONSTITUTION:Abrasive grains 20 with magnetism are scattered on the reference plane of a reference body 2, and a magnet is made to act on by a magnet driving part 8, attracting these abrasive grains onto the reference plane, and simultaneously a vibro-generator 16 is operated, giving a lateral vibration to the reference body 2. Next, the magnet is turned upside down as leaving it operated intact, having it opposed to an abrasive grain holding body, and a visco-elastic body such as, for example, tar pitch is made into a softening state whereby these abrasive grains 22 are transferred onto a surface of the holding body and fixed and held thereon. If so, these abrasive grains are formed into an accurate flat plane corresponding to form of the reference plane, owing to transfer of the reference plane, thus there is no irregularity in these abrasive grains. Therefore, polishing for good surface accuracy of finishing is performable without entailing any surface defect such as flaws, etc.
