<p>There is disclosed a liquid crystal display element (21) in which a liquid crystal layer (31) is interposed between a pair of electrodes (26, 27) at least one of which is light shielding, and the polarized light obsorption axis of a pair of deflecting plates (34, 35) arranged respectively on both side of the above-mentioned liquid crystal layer (31) is selected of the angle of polarized light so that the liquid crystal layer (31) becomes to have the light shielding quality when no voltage is applied across the aforementioned electrodes (26, 27).</p> |
