PURPOSE:To improve controllability by rapidly decelerating an actuator in accordance with a controlling time in which the actuator is accelerated and stopping the operation of the actuator when the acceleration is below a specified value, when carrying out constant speed traveling at a vehicle speed at the time of operating an accelerator switch to off. CONSTITUTION:When a command switch (b) is operated, an actual vehicle speed which is detected by a vehicle speed sensor (a) is stored in a vehicle speed memory means (c) and an actuator (d) is controlled in accordance with the difference between the stored vehicle speed and the actual vehicle speed to adjust the opening of a throttle valve. At this time, the actuator (d) is made to be in an accelerated condition when an accelerator switch is turned on while, after that, when the accelerator switch is turned off, the actuator (d) is rapidly decelerated in a rapid deceleration time which is calculated in accordance with the additional value of the controlling time tor making an accelerating condition, through a rapid deceleration control means (e). In this case, when the acceleration is below a specified value and becomes constant during a constant acceleration control, the actuator (d) is not operated due to a stopping means (f), while stopping addition to the additional value.
