PURPOSE:To enable a vehicle to avoid an emergency situation in which fuel reared from a fuel tank is catches or fire due to an accident or the like of the vehicle being turned sidewise, by cutting out a power feed line to be disconnected when no driver is detected after his existence is detected in a condition that a door is closed. CONSTITUTION:A CPU1 in an engine control device for a vehicle inputs an output signal from a driver detecting unit 2 which comprises an oscillator OSC, counter CTR and a parallel in-serial out-resistor PSR detecting whether or not a person is present in a driver's seat. While the CPU1 inputs output signals of a shock sensor GSEN and a door opening and closing detecting means SWOC. And in the CPU1, in a condition that a door is detected to be closed, when no driver, after his presence is detected, is detected because he is thrown out from the seat due to the vehicle being turned sidewise in an accident or the like, all the electrical system is controlled so as to disconnect its electrification by placing a breaker 8 in a cutoff condition.
