PURPOSE:To enable high accurate grinding and polishing to be attained, by constituting a machine such that a machining control part controls a rotary speed by a rotary means and a turn amount by a turning means corresponding to a turn angle of a workpiece holding member and a fine moving amount of a grinding member moving means. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece 1 in a workpiece holding device A, while it is rotated by a motor 5, turns by a motor 10 with the axial center of a turn shaft 8 serving as the center holding a preset radius, and a machine, corresponding to a turn angle of the workpiece 1, fine moves a grinding wheel 21 in the side of a grinding wheel slide device B for cutting the workpiece. A control means, corresponding to the turn angle and a moving distance, controls a rotary speed of a motor 5 and a turn speed of a motor 10 always setting a peripheral speed of the workpiece 1 to a fixed value. While the grinding wheel 21 is moved so as to come into contact with a workpiece ground surface under a condition such that time for the grinding wheel 21 to come into contact with a grinding unit area obtains a fixed length. Consequently, the machine, being able to perform grinding of fixed quantity, enables high accurate grinding and polishing to be executed.
