<p>PURPOSE:To perform transfer operation surely and prevent transfer dropout by providing a conductive separating and conveying member which separates and conveys copying paper after transfer and grounding said conductive separating and conveying member by way of a constant voltage element. CONSTITUTION:Electrostatic latent images 2 of (-) charge are formed on the surface of a photosensitive drum 1, and the toner 3 of (+) charge is stuck thereon. When a transfer electric field of (-) pole is applied to copying paper 4 by a transfer charger 5, the toner of (+) pole on the drum 1 is transferred to the copying paper 4. Thence, when the copying paper 4 approaches a conductive belt 4, the potential V(t) of the belt 6 is zero at the moment when the leading end of the first copying paper contacts the belt 6 as shown in the figure and as the copying paper contacts the belt 6, the (-) potential increases and is kept at a constant potential V1 by a constant voltage element 7. On ending of the separation after this, the potential is further lowered to the constant (-) potential V2. Thereby, the occurrence of transfer dropout is prevented in the image parts of a certain width from the leading end.</p> |
