PURPOSE:To improve operating efficiency by advancing and retracting a work spindle by means of a cam which rotates integrally with a driving shaft while feeding a work head body at a fixed feed rate and automatically performing removal of chips. CONSTITUTION:A work spindle 20 equipped with a work drill incorporated in a work head body 1 is rotated through gear by a driving shaft 39. A cylindrical cam 43 is installed on the driving shaft 39, and a piston 49 is moved up and down each revolution of the driving shaft 39 through cavity 44 provided on a part of the cam. A piston section 13 provided in a quill 12 of the work spindle 20 is advanced through hydraulic fluid and retracted through a spring 37 by a vertical movement of the piston 49, and the work spindle 20 is rotated 360 degrees with each revolution of the driving shaft 39 to advance and retract. Thus, since the work spindle 20 equipped with the work drill repeats advance and retract while feeding the work head at a fixed feed rate, the chips are easily cut and eliminated, and the operating efficiency can be improved. |
