PURPOSE:To compensate a delay produced at the time of signal transmission, by detecting the delayed quantity in transmission of a signal from a camera head to a signal processing section by means of a phase comparator and controlling the timing of a signal processing circuit by using the output of the phase comparator. CONSTITUTION:A phase controlling circuit 44 which controls the phase of timing pulses so that the phase difference between the input of a timing generator 42 and the input of a driving pulse generator 32 which is transmitted to a camera head 10 through a cable 14 and returned from the camera head 10 again through the cable 14 can be made zero, is provided. When the circuit 44 is provided, the delayed quantity in transmission of a signal from the camera head 10 to a signal processing section 12 is detected by the phase comparator 44 and the phase of timing pulses is controlled by the output of the comparator 44. Therefore, the processing timing of a signal processing circuit 36 is always appropriately controlled.
