PURPOSE:To make a telephone call and conversation without a hook-up handset, by sending voice of an opposite-side telephone number inputted to a directional sound collecting microphone as dial pulse signals by means of a speech recognition section and voice/signal converter. CONSTITUTION:A change-over switch 111 is depressed and an opposite-side telephone number is inputted to a directional sound collecting microphone by voice. A speech recognition section 107 analyses the electric voice signal and outputs the signal to a voice/signal converter 104 after converting the telephone number into corresponding numerical signals. The converter 104 produces numerical codes and outputs the codes to a dial pulse controlling and transmitting section 105 and the section 105 sends pulses supplied from a pulse oscillator 106 to a telephone line 110 as dial pulses. When the sending out is completed, a switch 102 is automatically switched to (b) side. Therefore, when the change- over switch 111 is once operated at the time of commencement of a call, dial connection and a call can be made by means of voice only without making any hand work and, in addition, it becomes unnecessary to hold the handset of a telephone set while talking.
