<p>PURPOSE:To increase the yield of gaseous methane by separating the org. material cracked in a first liquefaction vessel and the undercomposed org. material in a second liquefaction vessel, further cracking only the cracked org. material in the second liquefaction vessel and introducing the obtained material into a gasification vessel. CONSTITUTION:The first liquefaction vessel 4 and the second liquefaction vessel 5 are separated by a partition plate 2, a fermentable org. material is charged into the first liquefaction vessel 4, and the material is cracked by hydrolytic bacteria and acid-forming bacteria into a low-mol.wt. material. The undercomposed org. material and low-mol.wt. org. material in the preceding stage are separated in the second liquefaction vessel 5, and the low-mol.wt. org. material is further cracked in the vessel 5 into a lower-mol.wt. org. material. The obtained material is introduced into the gasification vessel 6, and gaseous methane is generated by using methane-forming bacteria. As a result, the infiltration of the undercomposed org. material into the gasification vessel is prevented, hence abnormal frothing in the gasification vessel is obviated, and the yield of gaseous methane is increased.</p> |
