PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized contact-type image sensor which is improved in resolution and reading accuracy at a low cost, by arranging micro-lenses in such a way that the lenses correspond to photoreceptor element one to one and respectively forming light intercepting films at areas where the lenses and elements are not provided. CONSTITUTION:Plural lens bodies 12 to be used for respectively forming images on plural photoreceptor elements 3a are provided in front of the elements 3a closely to the elements in such a way that the lens bodies 12 respectively correspond to the photoreceptor elements 3a and light intercepting films 9 and 13 are formed at areas where no photoreceptor element and lens body are provided. Therefore, incident rays of light from the outside of the reading extent of the micro-lenses can be intercepted completely. Accordingly, the resolution and reading accuracy of this contact-type image sensor are improved. Moreover, since it becomes unnecessary to use a rod lens, the thickness of the reading device of this sensor can be reduced and, as a result, the reading device can be made smaller in size and lighter in weight.
