PURPOSE:To maintain table slide stroke length constant by attaching a non- contact table position detector to a bed and controlling output time of a table reverse signal comparing the detected value and the value having been set beforehand. CONSTITUTION:A table 2 is horizontally slidably provided on a bed 1, and dogs 4 and 5 having slant bottom surface section 3 is fixed in front of the table 2. On the top of the bed 1 non-contact type table position detectors 6 and 7 are attached so as to oppose to the bottom surface section 3, when the table 2 reaches the specified slide position, to generate a voltage proportional to the change in the space between the bottom surface 3 and themselves. This detected value is input in a CPU with the result that the output time of the control signals from the CPU in the next reverse of the table 2 is quickened or delayed according to the result of comparison with preset value. Therefore, even if the inertia is changed due to the change of the sliding speed of the table, the length of a slide stroke is maintained approximately constant. As a result machining accuracy can be enhanced.
