PURPOSE:To obtain a picture which is easy to always read by drawing the erecting picture of a bit of picture information recorded on the medium, the size which corresponds to a small-sized recording medium, on a writing medium, by using a selecting means. CONSTITUTION:When an electronic blackboard is used for a conference or the like, a character or a pattern can be written on the surface of the writing medium by an aqueous marking pen, and the character and the pattern or the like can be freely erased by an eraser. When the picture of the character, the pattern or the like, written on the writing medium, are required to be recorded on a paper and a starting botton and the designating button of the desired number of copied sheets on an operation panel 45 are operated, the writing medium is shifted rotationally clockwise by the rotation of a motor, and simultaneously, the picture on the writing medium is contracted and read by a first reading element 10. The read picture information is stored in a RAM 43 for a while, and simultaneously, the picture information is recorded on the prescribed paper as it is in the contracted state, by the operation of a recorder 15.
