PURPOSE:To make dot disturbance reduceable, by properly using a luminance signal/chrominance component separation filter depending upon the correlation between pictures in the vertical and horizontal directions of composite color TV signals. CONSTITUTION:In case where the detected results of a vertical correlation detecting means 13a are 'correlation exists' and all detected results at reference sampling points are 'no correlation', the deciding circuit 14 of a picture correlation deciding circuit 7 corrects the detected results of the means 13a to 'no correlation' and makes isolated point removal in the vertical direction. In case the detected results of a horizontal correlation detecting means 13b are 'correlation exists' and all detected results of horizontal correlation at the reference sampling points are 'no correlation', the circuit 14 corrects the detected results of the means 13b to 'no correlation' and performs isolated point removal in the horizontal direction. Then the circuit 14 sends signals which select outputs of chrominance component extracting filters in horizontal direction, vertical direction, etc.
