PURPOSE:To prevent a UV glass for forming a bull's eye from damaging, crack ing or cutting out by lowering the surface of the glass lower than the upper surface of a package to prevent the glass from contacting or colliding with other article. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic cap 7 is formed with a circular through hole 9 at a position corresponding to a semiconductor pellet 3, a UV glass 10 is engaged as a bull' s eye in the hole 9 to be secured. In this case, the surface of the glass 10 is formed in a recess shape, and the surface is set on the upper surface of the cap 7, i.e., at a position lower than the upper surface of a package body 1. Accordingly, the glass is not interfered with other part to cause a damage or a crack to occur, and it can prevent a pellet from charging to prevent a software error, thereby providing a preferable external appearance and to improve the reliability.
