<p>PURPOSE:To permit high precision gradation control and thereby present a superior image by setting the optical intensity of each light emitting diode to a constant level and allowing the luminiscent time of each light emitting diode to vary according to gradation data. CONSTITUTION:If gradation data PDA(1)=1, PDA(2)=2, PDA(3)=3, first enumeration data becomes TM=1 by a clock signal CK1 and gradation data PDA (1)-PDA(N) which are read sequentially during a period of time t1-t2 are compared to TM=1. During the next period of time t2-t4, light emitting diodes Dc1, Dc2, Dc3 are turned ON. Then during the following period of time t3-t4, the light emitting diode Dc1 is turned OFF and the light emitting diodes Dc2, Dc3 remain lighted. During the period of time t4-t5 following the previous period, the light emitting diodes Dc1, Dc2, Dc3 are driven alike on the basis of this theoretical data. The light emitting diodes Dc1, Dc2, Dc3 emit light at time intervals tau1, tau2, tau3 in accordance with the values of the respective gradation data PDA(1), PDA(2), PDA(3).</p> |
