PURPOSE:To restrict occurrence of cracks in an electrolytic plate and prevent cross mixing of reaction gases by forming it in the form of multilayered green sheets and uniting them under them under heat and pressure prior to sintering. CONSTITUTION:Thin sheets formed of slurry including fine powders of ceramic are made to be multilayered structure and molded under pressure, and after the sintering of it, it is impregnated an electroly component (alkali metal carbonate). Thus fine cracks in the ceramic body produced by the volume change of carbonate caused by temperature change is prevented from extending to the whole body being stopped at the surface between the layers of the multilayer structure, and cross mixture of reaction gases can be prevented. Because of the multilayered structure, mechanical strength is also increased, and the change of the form by an external load is reduced, thereby good stability is shown when a cell is assembled. |
