PURPOSE:To enable a workpiece to be high accurately polished in a specific part of its polished surface, by controlling a polishing agent, which is positioned between the workpiece and a polishing tool carrying magnetism, to be moved to the polished surface of the workpiece being based on a signal from a polishing position detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic force generating means 4 and a tool 6 are fed in directions of arrow heads A, C by driving motors M1, M3 to rotate feed threads 8, 16, and a moving distance of the magnetic force generating means 4 from its reference position X1-X1 is detected by a cooperative action of a sensor 4 and a magnetic scale 12 being input to a counter 24 as a pulse. Next the counter 24, when the magnetic force generating means 4 reaches a polishing position, outputs a carrier signal E, and it stops the motors M1, M3. Thereafter, the magnetic line of force is generated from the magnetic force generating means 4 toward the magnetic polishing tool 6 through a workpiece 2 and a fixing bed 1. This magnetic line of force concentrates magnetic abrasive grains in polishing fluid to the center of the polishing tool. Under this condition, rotating the tool 6 by a motor M2, a specific part on a polished surface is concentrically polished by the magnetic abrasive grain. |
