PURPOSE:To obtain light shielding films which are not deviated in position without necessitating a mask to be exclusively used by forming black thin metallic films on plural transparent electrodes formed on a glass substrate and coating a black photosensitive base material over the entire surface, then exposing the material from a rear side. CONSTITUTION:The transparent electrodes 2 are formed on the transparent glass substrate 1 and the thin metallic films 3 are formed by electroless plating on the electrodes 2. The black negative type photosensitive base material 4 is coated over the entire surface of the substrate. Parallel rays 5 are projected on the substrate 1 from the rear side thereof to expose the base material. The base material 4 in the unexposed part is removed by development to form the light shielding films 4' between the electrodes 2. The thin metallic films 3 on the electrodes 2 are removed to form a display pattern.
