<p>PURPOSE:To quickly generate LOG in a relatively small scale by using a magnitude detector, an encoder, and corrector. CONSTITUTION:A magnitude detector 2 detects the magnitude of an input (x) from a digital input terminal group 1 as 2<i=x<2<i+1> (i=1, 2,...n-1) and outputs the output corresponding to (i). An encoder 3 encodes the output of the magnitude detector 2 and outputs a numerical value (i) as m1-bit data (m1 is a minimum integer larger than LOG2n). The output of the magnitude detector 2 is inputted to a shifter 4 as the control input, and the shifter 4 shifts down the input (x) by i-bit in accordance with the numerical value (i) and output m2-bit in a specific position (m2=m-m1). A digital output terminal group 5 outputs the output of the encoder 3 and the that of the shifter as upper m1-bit and lower m2-bit respectively.</p> |
