PURPOSE:To prevent the uneven weighting by the rotation of a polygonal mirror from acting on the bearings of a motor of a rotary polygonal mirror device by disposing a controller which stops the rotation of the motor of said device in accordance with the abnormality detection signal of an abnormality detector for detecting the abnormality of an image recorder to said image recorder. CONSTITUTION:The controller 21 which stops the rotation of the motor 6b of the rotary polygonal mirror device 6 in accordance with the abnormality generation signal of the abnormality signal generator 15 for detecting the jamming of recording paper 12 is disposed to the prescribed position in the recorder body 10 in which a fixing and paper conveying section 5 is housed and installed. A controller 22 transmits the rotation stop signal to the motor 6b of the rotary polygonal mirror device 6, i.e., the signal to turn off the power supply to the motor 6a when the abnormality signal is transmitted from the generator 15 to the controller 22. The rotation of the motor 6b is, therefore, stopped. The uneven weighing is, thus, no longer acted on the bearings to support the rotary shaft 6c of the motor 6b even if the rotary shaft 6c is moved to the position inclined from the horizontal direction. |
