BINDER FOR GLASS FIBER

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled binder having excellent effect for inhibiting raising of glass fiber and containing lubricating component consisting of a reaction product of a specific polyethylene polyamine with octanoic acid (functional derivative) and a bifunctional crosslinking agent. CONSTITUTION:1mol. polyethylene polyamide expressed by the formula (n is 2 or 3) is reacted with 0.15-1.0mol. octanoic acid (functional derivative) (e.g. methyl octanoate) and 0.3-1.0mol. bifunctional crosslinking agent (e.g. maleic acid) reactive with a primary or secondary amino group in the presence of a condensing agent or basic compound to afford a lubricating component consisting of the reaction product having 10-30wt.% nitrogen content. 0.1-1.0wt.% of the above-mentioned lubricating component, sizing agent containing 0.5-15wt.% coating film forming agent (e.g. PVA) and 0.1-1.0wt.% surface treating agent (e.g. gamma-aminopropyltriethoxysilane) and water are dissolved in water to provide the aimed binder for glass fiber.
