PURPOSE:To reduce consumption of oil during high speed operation by making a groove having predetermined circumferential cross-section radially in the upper face of a second pressure ring. CONSTITUTION:When the minimum groove gap of a second pressure ring 2 mounting a piston 4 is Co and the piston clearance is Cp, a groove 6 having circumferential cross-section S shown by S>=(0.25-0.75)Co.Cp is formed radially in the upper face of the ring 2. Consequently, oil is blown off by blowby gas and oil consumption can be reduced.
