PURPOSE:To provide an infusion containing an N-highly unsaturated- acyl-alpha-amino acid derivative. CONSTITUTION:The objective infusion contains an N-highly unsaturated- acyl-alpha-amino acid derivative which is a reaction product of a highly unsaturated fatty acid (e.g. gamma-linoleic acid, dihomo-gamma-linoleic acid, arachidonic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid or docosahexaenoic acid) with an alpha-amino acid. The alpha-amino acid is e.g. aspartic acid or glutamic acid and an oligopeptide having C-terminal can be used as the amino acid. The infusion can be prepared only by dispersing glycerol and an N-highly unsaturated-acyl-alpha-amino acid derivative in distilled water for injection without using intensive emulsifying agent or high-pressure emulsifier. If necessary, vitamins and minerals can be easily added to the infusion. Since the infusion can be supplied through mouth, vein or intestine, it can be utilized as an infusion for the improvement of nutrient balance or as a post-operative nutrient or remedy.
