PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a driving rotary body by relatively rotatably supporting the disk member of a driven disk by means of a load above a set torque with respect to a boss member for supporting it, in a friction type continuously variable transmission. CONSTITUTION:In a driven disk 6, a disk member 9 is loosely fitted on a boss member 8 which is spline fitted on an output shaft 5, the disk member 9 is interposed in between the collar part 8a of the boss member 8 and a friction board 10, and the friction board 10 is brought into pressure contact with the disk member 9 by means of a coned disk spring 11 so as to integrally rotate the disk member 9 and the boss member 8. And, when a load above a set torque is applied to the output shaft 5, the power transmitting condition between the disk member 9 and the boss member 8 is disconnected. In this case, the set torque is set smaller than the torque which causes slippage between a taper cone 3 and the disk member 9, to function as a safety clutch for preventing slippage.
