PURPOSE:To decrease a module loss and to permit easy and exact connection of an optical fiber with decreased man-hours at the time of connecting the optical fiber to a light guide by connecting both via a small piece fitting and fixing the front end of the core wire of the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:The connection of the optical fiber is executed by fitting the front end of the core wire 2 of the optical fiber into the small hole bored to the small piece 3 and fixing the same by an adhesive agent. Joining of the end face of a light guided substrate 1 and the small piece 3 is also executed by using the adhesive agent. The material for the small piece to be used as a connecting medium may be any materials if the materials are suitable for the mechanism of joining. The fiber can be positioned sufficiently near to the guide by connecting the fiber to the guide in the structure in which the core wire of the fiber is slightly projected from the small piece, even if the small pieces and the end face of the guide incline. The connection of the fiber to the guide by inclining the fiber side is also possible even if the end face of the guide is polished not perpendicularly but inclinedly to the guide. The decrease in the module loss is thereby permitted; in addition, the improved joint strength, the decreased man-hours and the reduced working costs, member costs, etc., are obtd. |
