PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of a copying operation by providing a paper discharge device which inverts and guides an original from contact glass, and guides the same to a paper discharge tray, a driving device which drives a reversible roller and a control device for changing over a change-over pawl. CONSTITUTION:A paper feed path 16 which guides the original from an original table 11 to an intermediate position and a paper feed path 17 from the intermediate position up to the contact glass are provided on a conveyor 13. An inversion path 18 and the change-over pawl 19 connected to the feed paths 16, 17 are provided on the intermediate position. A conveyance roller 20 is provided on the path 16 and the reversible roller 21 is provided on the path 18. A conveyor belt 22 is provided on the glass 2. The paper discharge device 14 is provided with the inversion path 27 and paper discharge path 26 for inverting and guiding the original from the glass 12 to the discharge tray 44 upper than the glass. The roller 21 is reversibly driven and the change over of the change-over pawl 19 is controlled in such a manner, by which the inversion and guiding of the original from the path 16 to the path 17 are permitted. Provision of a paper feed table and discharge table in proximity to each other is also possible.
