Prepn. of breakfast cereal coated with powd. sugar comprises (a) toasting cereal material (A); (b) drying the toasted (A) to be about 4% moisture; (c) coating the dried (A) with edible oils (melting point, 70-120≦̸F) at the wt. ratio of 0.15-0.45 based on (A); (d) coating the oil-coated (A) with the dried solid sugar powders (15-200μ) at the wt. ratio of 0.15-1.0 based on (A); and (e) cooling the (A) coated with sugar to > melting point of edible oils.
